Dr Craigie specialises in pain medicine with particular interests in chronic pain conditions affecting women and children.  She is also a specialist anaesthetist, sub-specialising in anaesthesia for children of all ages and acute perioperative pain management.

Dr Craigie’s training

Dr Craigie trained in medicine and surgery at The University of Adelaide followed by specialist training in anaesthesia and intensive care in Adelaide, completing her fellowship in 1989.  She did a further 2 years of training in the United Kingdom specialising in children’s anaesthesia.

Dr Craigie developed her interest in pain medicine while working in children’s anaesthesia at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in the 1990s.   She went on to study pain medicine further, completing a Master of Medicine (Pain Medicine) degree from Sydney University in 2006.

  • Senior Consultant, Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management, Flinders Medical Centre where she heads a Paediatric Pain Management Clinic
  • Clinical Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, Flinders University
  • Board member, Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, chairing the Examinations Committee and the Paediatric Pain Working Party
  • Examiner and member of the Final Examination Sub-Committee, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists
  • Instructor for Advanced Paediatric Life Support training
  • Foundation member and Secretary, Flinders Overseas Health Group
